The degraded service of the Games Hub in the US region was caused by updates in an underlying database engine version that caused a particular workload to become non-performant. This workload has been stabilised with the database provider and our team is following up with them to ensure such updates do not happen automatically going forward.
Our team also rolled out optimizations to the query performance of the affected workload and have confirmed this has had a positive impact on query execution time. This update was performed to ensure that in the case of reduced service capacity with the database provider, there is sufficient head-room available for the Games Hub service to function as expected.
