    The investigation concluded that the sending of email was impacted by a sender that had email throttling in place as well as having very large email content data-sizes. This caused the gateway to become overloaded which resulted in intermittent performance issues during the window of 19:00 - 21:00 UTC on October 20th.

    This workload type has been protected against now by ensuring whenever custom throttling rules are in use, these are in place on both the platform and email gateway sides. Additional monitoring has also been added which would trigger P1 alerts to the on-call team in advance of the email gateway encountering a similar issue in future. These measures fully mitigate this issue and we can confirm that we have not encountered any issues with the email gateway since October 20th.

  • Investigating

    We are seeing a delay in processing and errors on email channel campaigns. Sending was particularly affected between 19:00 and 21:00 UTC October 20th. We can confirm email has been sending since but the team are still investigating the issue.
